November Diary

I write to you from autumn day that is hurrying towards Christmas or so it seems when I see my schedule for the next few weeks ! This week we celebrated with the launch of “ The Hope Prayer “ . It was a lovely event and my local community welcomed people from far and wide. By now the book is crossing the country and should be in some other countries before the week is out . I hope it will bring some words of comfort and hope to those who open the pages. I am delighted with the beautiful presentation done by the people at Hachette, the book publishers.

We have just started our new tour and lat night we were in the beautiful Jesuit Church in Gardiner Street in Dublin.  We had a fantastic night and great audience. It was lovely to hear people singing to the old songs. I am delighted to support the various charities that reach out to many people in the all kinds of situations.

One of the most interesting emails arrived during the week and it is in regards to my last album Healing Song tell me that it is now to be found in such places as  Mogadishu, Iraq, Afghanistan, Jibuti, Germany, Kuwait and Korea . It is used by the Chaplains in many of the Army bases throughout the world. I pray that such music might help bring peace and reconciliation and healing in some way. Many thanks to all of you, for your emails. It is wonderful to see people communicating and sharing thoughts, views and of course music.

This can be a sad time of the year for many people as the natural world is settling down for its winter sleep, we also remember our loved ones who have passed on. I conclude with a few lines from one of my prayers in The Hope

Prayer
Prayer for Remembering in November ……….

Where Yew Trees are planted
That catch autumn dew
Where heather is purple
And berries are few

So sleep dear souls in silence
Beneath the blue moon’s gaze
Carved on weathered headstones
The years of waiting days

Waiting for you
O Lord.

With blessings

Liam
