Autumn Diary
It seems like only lately that I wrote an autumn diary for last year ~ how quickly time flies ! And yet as I look back over the past few months I am very conscious that we have traveled many miles and met many old and new friends. In the past few months I have been concentrating on the new Glendalough Mass with so many Choral Workshops. It's been a great pleasure to listen to so many beautiful choirs sing in Harmony and bring the music on the pages to life.
Though poignant, it was a great honour to The Clouds Veil recently at the special televised programme commemorating the Tenth Anniversary of the Twin Towers tragedy. As I sang at the National Fire Officers Centre in Dublin many people joined us on line from New York and other US destinations. The music was also featured at a number of memorials in New York later that day.
Last Friday night I had the great honour to present my music at a special evening in Glendalough to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Glendalough Hermitages. Click here for LINK. There is something very beautiful about this place that has inspired me to write many pieces . In a way it was like coming home to a place imbued with so many blessings and connections down through the centuries. Such a place has given birth to such songs as Labyrinth, In the Quiet, The Glendalough Theme , and now the Glendalough Mass setting which even though in its infancy is now being performed in such diverse places as Australia, Canada and all over the US and of course here at home. It was wonderful to be joined on Friday night last by the local Choir who were a pleasure to sing with.
One of the other projects that I am currently involved in is an audio recording of a selection from The Hope Prayer. Having read some of the pieces at our concerts we are constantly asked about an audio recording which will be ready very soon.
You will also notice that we will be announcing our special 20th Anniversary Tour very soon, which will take us all over Ireland and also to the UK. It's my great wish to revisit some of my older material and give some new life to the songs that helped me to become established in the last twenty years. Many wonderful Choirs still use some of this material and I am always humbled and thrilled when I hear some of the older pieces that I never sing myself and yet Choirs perform so beautifully.
Our Tour will take us to many stunning locations so hopefully we will visit a venue near you and that you will come along and sing with us. Obviously as we take in December dates we will also be including some favourite and beautiful Christmas songs in our repertoire.
So, a busy time ahead and lets hope Mother Winter will be kinder to us this year and that the only place we will see snow ~ is on the cards that come through our post boxes !
See you all soon,
With blessings,
Liam
