Spring 2011

So much has happened since I last wrote ~ its hard to know where to start ! A massive thank you to everyone who supported  “Send me an Angel” for Eurovision. I know that people were disappointed but from the beginning I wanted to write a song that would have a life after Eurovision and I hope that I have done just that. I am thrilled that it has gone to No 1 in the World Music Charts on ITunes on two different weeks  after Eurovision. Thank you to all of you who have downloaded the song. I am also delighted that my other songs are now becoming more well known as a result and have also entered the Charts. My wish is that songs from Courage Can Cry would also come to more public attention. In the coming months we will be performing a special Courage Can Cry Tour highlighting all the songs from this album and I am really looking forward to it.

In between the Eurovision mayhem we also performed a number of concerts that had been postponed since Christmas. We had some great nights all over the country ~ In Tralee we had over 1000 people in the beautiful St. John’s Church. Then we had a very special night at Christchurch Cathedral last Thursday night. I was joined that night by the brilliant Trad player Nigel Davey and by The Vard Sisters who sang beautifully for a most appreciative audience. What a beautiful venue also!

The following night I was joined by the Cobh Cathedral Chamber Choir for a special night in Aghada , Cork . Hopefully in the future I will be joined by this wonderful choir who add so much to our music.

In March I will be heading to the US to perform at the Anaheim Convention Arena in Los Angeles and I very much look forward to meeting with my friends across the pond soon.

We are also booking a number of Choral\ Liturgical Workshops for April~ May which will showcase some new Liturgical music that I have written (see details re The Glendalough Mass ) Our last series of workshops two years ago were a huge success so hopefully we will be reach a big number of choirs this time also. The website will soon post all the details.

You can keep in touch on Facebook at Liam Lawton Music and we will keep you updated on all the events over the coming months.

Looking forward to meeting you all somewhere on the road,

With blessings

Liam
